With over ten mills on four different sites, over 900 employees, and making more than 80 grades of flour, you might think that Heygates is just another massive corporation, but this is far from the case.

Bread dough made in a stand mixer is so easy you'll never buy a loaf of bread again! This is one of Ratton Pantry's favourite recipes and is used daily by one of the owners.

Try to get hold of Tipo ‘00’ – this is a very finely sieved flour which is normally used for making egg pasta or cakes. Once you've made homemade pasta, you'll never buy from the shops again.

Homemade bread is easy to make, impressive and versatile. It doesn’t matter if you make it regularly or only for special occasions, it’s your bread and it has its own character. 

This pizza dough is best made with Italian Tipo ‘00’ flour, which is finer ground than normal flour, and it will give your dough an incredible super-smooth texture.
